A hanging sculpture made of 16-gauge sculpted wire, red sewing string, and 100 ink-dyed paper origami. The sculpture represents the Chinese "Red Thread" of fate, connecting one with those they are destined to meet in life. No matter how tangled the thread may be, it cannot be cut or altered.
The DNA spiral symbolizes one's biological history/familial ties and the origami represents the individuals that sit along the Red Thread and shape one's life. The sculpture represents how a person is holistically molded by meaningful connections with family, friends, and strangers.
