Summer 2021, I volunteered to paint the stairs of the Ione Jr. High School to encourage students to work hard in their academic endeavors and work towards a higher education. In Amador County, there is an increasing amount of impoverished and disadvantaged families. I worked with teachers and the AVID program to launch this project as a way to beautify campus and inspire students to continue making progress towards academic and career achievements.

College logos encourage kids to start thinking of where they might want to go study and what steps they need to accomplish to achieve their goals.

This adds a fun pop of color to campus and reminds students how their character and actions towards others makes a difference.

Impact
After painting these stair murals, students and staff have commented about how much pride they feel for their school. Not only do these murals add beauty to the campus, they also reflect core values that the school wants to impart on students and staff alike.
